When my wife gave birth to our twins at 28 weeks and 5 days we were shocked and unprepared, but elated to be parents and that our babies made it through the delivery. A week later when we found out that our son had a grade 4 Intraventricular hemorrhage on the left side of his brain and a grade 2-3 on the right we were devastated. I remember initially feeling like the life I had envisioned for my son was gone. It was the lowest point of my life. But life went on… and Chris got better and continued to improve. And now a year and a half later my son, who went through such a traumatic start to his life, has done something for the last week that I had doubts he would ever do… walk.
Happiest week of my life!
For Ali, my beautiful wife and mother of our 2 miracles… Motherhood never suited someone so well.
